What is a matching gift?
A matching gift is a donation your employer makes to a nonprofit to match a gift you already made personally — often dollar-for-dollar, and sometimes at 2x or 3x. It's a company benefit, usually run through HR or a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, and it costs you nothing beyond a few minutes of paperwork.
How do I know if my employer participates?
Search for your employer above. If we've confirmed their program, you'll see the platform they use and a direct link into their portal. If we haven't confirmed it yet, tell us and we'll research it — many companies you wouldn't expect do offer this benefit.
Does this cost me anything?
No. The match comes entirely from your employer's own giving budget. Your original donation to Bardo is unaffected either way.
How long does a match take to process?
Submitting the request usually takes under five minutes. Employers then typically take a few weeks to a few months to review and pay out the match, depending on their internal process.
What information will I need?
Most portals ask for your donation date, amount, and The Bardo Foundation's name and EIN (30-1281323). Keep your donation confirmation email handy before you start.
My employer isn't listed — what happens next?
Use the short form that appears after a search with no result. We'll research your employer's program and follow up by email once it's confirmed and added to the directory.

Bernardo "Bardo" Eggesbø Coll was 16 when osteosarcoma — childhood bone cancer — took his life in July 2021. Starting a foundation to help other children with cancer was his dying wish, and it's the reason The Bardo Foundation exists.
Children like Bardo are still treated with the same core chemotherapy doctors used in the 1980s. We fund the research working to change that.
